Ahoy! My friends of the sea, today is Friday the 13th. It is a superstitious day by all means, but where did it all start? Something must have happened to trigger all the fear right? The origin of this unlucky day is unclear but there a few stories that might have the answer. As legend has it, here is a tale of a few brave men who made an attempt to overcome such a day. A tale nearly perfect, for a full moon Friday the 13th.

Once upon a time way back in the 19th Century the British Royal Navy decided enough was enough. Fed up with all the Friday fear, the Royal Navy set out to conquer ye’ old superstitious day. To prove the falseness of the myth of a Friday, they decided to build a ship and name it the HMS Friday. Her keel was laid on a Friday, she was launched from the docks on a Friday, and she set sail on her maiden voyage on a Friday, in the hands of specifically assigned Captain James Friday. She was never seen or heard from again.

Happy Friday the 13th from L&C.
